Meet Evelyne L. Thomas
Originally from France, I've made the United Arab Emirates my home for nearly 40 incredible years. As a dedicated Mental & Wellness Coach, my ultimate aim is to create a warm and inviting haven for individuals, couples, families, and corporate teams or groups to explore and become more conscious of their inner world. I support clients to develop healthier patterns of behaviour, guide them in becoming more conscious of their beliefs, emotions, behaviour, whilst cultivating self-compassion, and fostering stronger empathy in their relationships. Coaching or Counselling is professional help for people to become better aware and process what is happening in their lives. With professional support people regain clarity, healing, resolution, and positive outcomes which help them live a more fulfilling and happier life and healthier relationships. They manage to communicate better and usually find their own solutions to their situations.
I work with Individuals, Couples (married or in a relationship), Families, and Groups (friends, colleagues).
I help with relational issues such as communication, conflict resolution, emotional and physical intimacy, parenting, trust issues, infidelity, pre-marriage goals, decision on divorce.
If one of you is not sure what is best for them (stay or leave the relationship), we look at it differently and don’t enter Couples’ work until there is a commitment to work on the relationship. This is discussed at the first session.
It is my intention to ensure that all aspects of our work should, wherever possible, remain private and confidential. However, if I consider a client (or other individuals connected to them) to be at risk of harm, it is my ethical duty to share this information with the relevant professionals, and to inform the client of said duty. If a client reveals knowledge of and/or involvement in a serious crime, then special consideration would be applied to such a case.
Notes are not sent to clients. They can be viewed in my office if necessary, but not on the screen and not sent. You can write your own notes at the end of the sessions.
Sometimes I will want to record sessions to review our work together, either on my own or with a supervisor. I will ask you to sign a consent form prior to doing it. Recorded sessions will never be shared with you or anyone else (than my supervisor).
Should divorce be an option, I can support you during the process, and with post-divorce co-parenting and communication issues. Partners who can sit together and discuss parenting or logistic issues are less likely to fight and create trauma for each other and for their family if they have children.
